Updated Steelers 53-man roster prediction entering week 3 of preseason
By Tommy Jaggi
Wide receivers: 6
JuJu Smith-Schuster
James Washington
Donte Moncrief
Diontae Johnson
Eli Rogers
Ryan Switzer
These have been the top six from the beginning, and I don’t see that changing yet. Tevin Jones and Johnny Holton impressed in week one, but couldn’t get on the stat sheet against the Chiefs. Diontae Spencer had a nice run on a reverse and was great in the return game, but he still is a long-shot to make the team.
Tight ends: 3
Vance McDonald
Xavier Grimble
Zach Gentry
Vance McDonald and Xavier Grimble are locked in as the team’s one and two tight ends, respectfully. Nobody has stood out for the number three spot, so I still have it going to 5th round pick, Zach Gentry.
Offensive line: 9
Alejandro Villanueva
Ramon Foster
Maurkice Pouncey
David DeCastro
Matt Feiler
B.J. Finney
Zach Banner
Chukwuma Okorafor
Fred Johnson
My first changes to my 53-man roster. In my most recent update, I had 7th round draft pick Derwin Gray making the team. However he has been replaced by Zach Banner – a player who continues to impress. I also added a 9th offensive lineman, Fred Johnson, to the fold.
