The Steelers recently traded away third-year quarterback, Josh Dobbs to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Here are all the reasons why he will be missed.

I was ecstatic when the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Josh Dobbs back in the 4th round of the 2017 draft. The former SEC quarterback was incredibly fun to watch during his time at Tenessee, and he was one of the most electrifying players in college football.

When the Steelers announced yesterday that Josh Dobbs was being shipped to Jacksonville in exchange for a 5th round draft choice, I was bummed. It’s not that I didn’t like the draft compensation or that I necessarily thought he was going to be the next best thing since sliced bread. Rather, I’m going to miss Josh Dobbs, the person.

I’ve gotten to know Josh quite well over the past few years through our various Twitter conversations, and we have met four times face-to-face. This may sound like another cliche, but there honestly isn’t a person out there who genuinely cares more about people than Joshua Dobbs does.

Josh is always going out of his way to help people in need, and there is nothing phony about his selfless personality. He is the type of player every NFL team should have in their locker room, and everyone around him is better for it.

Dobbs is one of the few professional athletes who understands that he is no better than anyone else, and he demonstrates this through all acts of life.

Though his time in Pittsburgh lasted just a few short years, there is no doubt in my mind that he will be missed by everyone in that Steelers locker room. He may no longer be wearing a black and yellow uniform on game days, but I encourage you all to continue to follow Josh throughout his career.

Most of all, I encourage all of you to think and speak of him in a positive light – no matter how he looks on the field. I know he would do the same for you.
