Moss just announced that he is leaving LSU after becoming champions. He is a young and talented tight end, would the Steelers select him with one of their picks come April?

Moss is big at 6’3 and 250 pounds, he provides a big target with the decent ability in run blocking. He has jumped off the screen since his great outing in New Orleans during the recent national championship game against Clemson.

His father is Hall of Famer, Randy Moss. This kid is a moldable piece and could become a greater player himself. Moss is only 21 years of age as he leaves the Tigers as a Junior. His stats will not wow you, but he is a young target with huge upside. Mock drafts currently have him anywhere from rounds two to four, so he would be there for the Steelers taking at some point in the draft.

This past season he only totaled around 550 yards and 4 touchdowns during the season, but he has impressive burst moments. By that I mean he shows that glimpse of his potential with highlight-reel plays.

The biggest thing that stands out about Moss is his ability to come up big in huge games. In the college football playoffs, he was able to dominate at his position. When LSU played Oklahoma, he totaled 99 yards receiving and added a touchdown onto his resume in that game.

His last game collegiality was in the championship game which showed his red-zone threat ability. He had two touchdowns and 36 yards receiving. He has the possibility to rise up on draft boards the closer we get to the draft in April.

It will be interesting to see where teams will select the prospect as he seems likely to test well at the combine and at pre-draft workouts. Moss would be a great addition to the Steelers hindered tight end group, which has struggled ever since Heath Miller left.

Next. What should the Steelers do in round two of the 2020 draft?. dark

With a giant need at tight end with Vance McDonald potentially being a cap causality and lack of depth there, this is a huge position of need. Moss would provide a huge upside and future in this positional group and find a potential star in the future. With size and the right coaching, this could be a match made in Heaven between the Steelers and Moss.

He will no longer be known as Randy Moss’s son but known as Thaddeus Moss, an NFL tight end in his own right.
