A way too early Steelers 2020 53-man roster projection

Assuming the Steelers keep six here (like they typically do), then this group is likely set unless an outside free agent is added at the NT position. While DE is incredibly deep and full of talent, the NT position leaves a lot to be desired. With Daniel McCullers being the only veteran option, he has the inside track to be the starter there.

While this is a scary prospect, the team doesn’t have a lot of options. The position itself typically sees almost 300 snaps in a season, meaning the Steelers will have to rely on McCullers taking that next step. That said, some of the DE options may shift over to NT and play out of position. This is a huge area of need going into training camp.
