T.J. Watt: Defensive Player of the Year
T.J. Watt was remarkable for the Steelers in 2019 and was a runner up for the Defensive Player of the Year award that ultimately fell to Patriots cornerback, Stephon Gilmore. Watt, however, isn’t going anywhere.
At just 25 years old, Watt stands to get even better entering his fourth NFL season. Though it won’t be easy to repeat his statistical productions from last season, there is nothing he lacks. Watt has an elite drive and remarkable motor to go with his long frame and extremely athletic makeup.
Though the Steelers lost Javon Hargrave in free agency, the return of Stephon Tuitt from a season-ending pectoral injury should help out Watt tremendously. Watt is one of the best young defensive players in the NFL, and the Defensive Player of the Year award should be firmly within his grasp again in 2020, assuming he doesn’t miss any time with injuries.
