Cameron Heyward: 20% chance

If Cameron Heyward would have started this dominant run four of five years ago, he would have stood a very good chance at making the Hall of Fame one day. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for how his career is currently unfolding.

Though Heyward has been one of the best interior defenders in the league over the past three years, his first Pro Bowl appearance or All-Pro honors didn’t come until he was 28 years old. By NFL times, that’s typically far too late.

With the exception the quarterback position, it’s going to take more than two first-team All-Pros to hear your name called to Canton, and Heyward is behind the pace. Fortunately, he’s playing as well as he ever has. However, unless he can keep up the pace until age 35 or 36, he won’t stand a great shot at making the Hall of Fame, as his career got off to a late start.

Heyward is a Steeler by every meaning of the word. He’s the type of player we like to root for. Let’s hope he can continue his dominant run as an All-Pro-level player.
