The Browns are entering Week 6 without Nick Chubb. However, Kareem Hunt is a man to be feared.

Nick Chubb’s injury will obviously set back the Browns rushing attack. Yet, Kareem Hunt isn’t someone that the Pittsburgh Steelers can afford to mishandle. To start, he is former league rushing leader. In his rookie season in 2017 he shocked the NFL as a 3rd round pick by running all over everybody. Not only did he lead the league in rushing in 2017, he ranked 8th in the league in receiving yards from the running back spot. He is a true dual-purpose back that you can line up anywhere and see him succeed.

The reason why we haven’t heard as much about Hunt was because of an incident that surfaced in 2018 resulting in his release from the Chiefs. He would eventually sign with the Cleveland Browns, and after serving his suspension, would work his way into a prominent role in the offense. Even if he is playing second fiddle to Nick Chubb, that is more of a credit to Nick Chubb’s incredible talent as a runner.

The Browns made more of a commitment to the running game for 2020 by adding talented full back, Andy Janovich in the 2020 offseason. A fullback signing usually isn’t a big deal, but it is when you sign the highest graded pass blocker from the fullback position by PFF. He is also the second-highest graded run blocker from the position as well. Aside from these two, the Browns are still deep at running back.

Second-year man, D’Ernest Johnson has played well with the absence of Nick Chubb. He came in off the bench against Dallas after Chubb’s injury and averaged 7.3 yards per carry. In the following week, he would average 4.0 yards per carry against a very tough Colts defense. While Hunt is still the first option behind Chubb, with Johnson playing as well as he has, you can expect Cleveland’s rushing attack to be the best the Steelers have seen yet this year.
