This pair absolutely dominated the college scene in 2013 and they compliment each other so well.

The thing about the Browns, is that even with such a staunch running game I can’t think of a pair of elite wide receivers in the NFL that compliment each other so well. Jarvis Landry is a terrific route runner, and his hands are unbelievable. He ranked 19th in the league in 2019 when it comes to catch percentage in addition to ranking 13th of all wide receivers in the same metric, per ProFootballReference.

What makes it more interesting is how much of a bruiser he is. For being an elite wide receiver he is certainly not afraid of contact. He is physical, and looks for contact with the ball in his hands. While he isn’t as elusive, he will break tackles with the best of them. He can block, he is rarely missing time due to injury, he can line up anywhere while running any route, and he doesn’t drop passes.

If Jarvis Landry is the Jack-of-all-trades in the NFL at wide receiver, then Odell Beckham Jr. is the Ace of spades. He is one of the most dangerous players in the league with the ball in his hands. He rarely drops passes himself ranking just 8 spots behind Landry in catch percentage. Yet, the biggest strength of OBJ is simply the all-world elusiveness. He makes circus catches, and in his time at New York, the way to win was to simply give him the ball.

Beckham was the Giants’ offense for the first three years of his career. He hasn’t continued posting the mind-boggling stats in Cleveland that he use to in New York. However, when he gets the ball with room to move, it is going to be a highlight. He just posted a 3-touchdown performance against Dallas, and one of those touchdowns was a 50 yard run on a reverse to seal the game.

I expect the Browns to do what they can to get the run game going against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but if Pittsburgh continues to dominate against the run, then they will do whatever they need to in order to get the ball to these two wide receivers. They are incredible talents and you will hear their names being mentioned a lot in this game.
