Chase Claypool

Is it too early to say that Chase Claypool is one of the most important players on the team? Normally I would advise against overrating a rookie based on just a handful of games, but when it comes to Claypool, I’m becoming more and more confident that he is the full package at wide receiver.

Despite seeing just 4 targets on the day, Claypool continues to make the most of his opportunities – catching all four passes for 74 yards (18.5 yards per reception). In addition, the rookie hit pay-dirt for the 6th time this season as he took one of his two carries on the day for a score.

Claypool is a matchup nightmare by every definition of the word. He has the size to body up defenders over the middle and the speed to burn them down the field. But he’s more than just an impressive physical specimen.

This kid is a natural football player, and if he keeps this up, he will quickly be regarded as one of the best young talents in the National Football League – regardless of position. Chase Claypool looks to have a very promising career ahead of him.
