Steelers vs Ravens: Who the experts are taking in week 8

This is another potential playoff matchup as the 6-0 Steelers faceoff against the 5-1 Ravens in an AFC North matchup. This is going to be a very tough test on the road for Pittsburgh but one they have a real chance of winning. 

Each week in the NFL brings a new opponent and a new set of matchups that the team needs to figure out how to deal with. The Steelers held on last week against a very good Tennessee Titans team and secured another win against a good team. Now they head to Baltimore with the Ravens coming off of their bye week.

This is going to be a very tough game for Mike Tomlin’s team as they haven’t had as much time to prepare and rest as this week’s foe. Bye weeks mean a lot as it adds extra preparation and the ability for a team to heal as they get ready for their next game. The Ravens play amazing historically under their coach, John Harbaugh as they have won far more games than lost throughout the seasons after a bye week.

Baltimore will try their best to reach first place in the division after this game is over while the Steelers hope to extend their first-place lead. Not only is the early season first seed in the division at stake in this matchup but so is the Steelers undefeated streak. They will hope to keep that alive and well once this one concludes.

Experts have put their picks out there and those have come from the likes of CBS Sports, SB Nation, and Sporting News. In total there are a combined 13 picks made and the majority are picking the Ravens. It will be a close game judging by the explanations of these picks but eight out of the 13 favor the Ravens over the black and yellow. It will be a tough game for the Steelers to pull off as it’s common for the two games a year to split with each one winning at their home stadiums.

It is going to be very difficult to win this game on the road especially after the game the Steelers are coming off of. With more preparation and rest, the Ravens seem like they will win this one. Pittsburgh could win this game but it will be a tough and gutsy win if they do. Baltimore just seems too much for this team to handle after last week’s game.

Prediction: Steelers 21, Ravens 28

This is going to be a very tough win for the Steelers to win with all of the factors going against them. It will be tough but this could still be a win if the Steelers can play gutsy enough and make enough splash plays.
