The Still Curtain announces their week five predictions for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they defend Heinz Field against the Denver Broncos.

According to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, rightly is defined as something according to truth or fact, and rightly so, anyone affiliated with the Pittsburgh Steelers in any capacity is justified in being upset in the outcome of their last week’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Primarily due to the weekly erroneous decision by an NFL ref, which always seems to affect points, and that the Steelers so happened to find themselves on the wrong end of the ruling this time.

A warranted response, what took away a halftime lead for the Black & Gold created three more points for the Packers and the question for many – what if? What if the Steelers were able to go into Lambeau Field and accomplish the upset? Does optimism begin to settle for the trajectory of the season, or does doubt continue?

Likely, even a win in Green Bay couldn’t bandage or convince the present issues for the Steelers would have been fixed; however, the momentum could’ve created a resurgence. Now in the reality of “we will never know”, does it shift the confidence in Pittsburgh’s exhibition against Denver, Sunday?

Week Five Predictions vs. Broncos

KODY DUNCAN: Everything seems to be going wrong with the Steelers this year. bad O-line, bad QB play, disappointing defense, and poor coaching. That being said, the Steelers pull this one out because of pure luck. (PIT 17-13)

ANDREW FALCE: Despite Denver being a weaker team, the Steelers have little going for them. Until this defense is completely healed, it’s hard to see them winning. (DEN 24-17)

ERIC HASSEL: The Steelers come back home to face the Denver Broncos in what is already a must-win game.  In a back and forth game, Ben leads a late TD drive to seal the victory. (PIT 24-20)

TOMMY JAGGI: After three straight losses, Mike Tomlin knows exactly what’s riding on this game. Though the Steelers have been banged up this year, their situation is nothing compared to what the Broncos are going through. Denver already has ten players on IR and several more could be absent for this contest. Pittsburgh has no excuse not to come away with a win at home in Week 5. (PIT 20-17)

BRANDON KRING: The team once again proved it is all around a bad team. Ben is struggling and the offense can’t do much at all. The OL has to face a stout front 7 which does not bode well for them. (DEN 24-10)

SHAYNE KUBAS: The Broncos may be missing Teddy Bridgewater, but even if Drew Lock needs to play he won’t need to be great to get the W. With the Steelers run defense still in a bad place and the offense still searching for answers, the Broncos aren’t a good match-up. (DEN 20-13)

SCOTT LONG: Steelers finally snap their three-game losing streak but don’t look pretty going it. Steelers win in an ugly defensive game. (PIT 20-16)

JORDAN NEWMAN: The Broncos play a game of steady pace & stout defense, however have only proved it against lesser teams. Steelers catch them again for their first win in four games but still comes as a formidable challenge by Denver. (PIT 27-16)

RYAN PAWLOSKI: Teddy Bridgewater potentially being out of this game is going to be huge for this incoming Denver team. Pittsburgh should be able to cause enough turnovers on defense for Ben Roethlisberger and company to put up enough points to secure the win here. (PIT 21-17)

LOYAL RICKS JR: The Steelers will take advantage of a Broncos team who have struggled to beat teams with a positive record this year. Ben Roethlisberger and the Defense Carries us home. (PIT 24-13)

CASEY SADEKOSKI: Steelers are getting healthier, and they are playing against a Denver team without their QB1 in Teddy Bridgewater. Blitzburgh has a strong showing in a win against Denver. (PIT 24-10)
