Age 39 years, 10.1* months (*by the end of 2021 regular season)

Assuming Ben Roethlisberger finishes out the remainder of the 2021 season in Pittsburgh, he will become the oldest player to ever wear the black and gold for this team. Of all of his prestigious records, this one is going to be incredibly hard for anyone to beat.

Though Tom Brady is the clear exception to the mold, we may be exiting an era where quarterbacks (or players from any position) are given the opportunity to stick around at nearly 40 years old. The Steelers had a tough choice to make in the 2020 offseason as to whether or not they should stick with Big Ben for one more season.

By doing so, not only becomes the oldest player to ever play for the Steelers, but he also owns the record for the most games played, most years played and most starts by any player in Pittsburgh Steelers history.

No matter what type of talented quarterback this team is able to find at some point in the future, it’s hard to imagine another passer playing as long as Big Ben has. This is a record that might never be broken.

It will be interesting to see if there are any players who crack this list in the future. As of now, these are your five oldest players to wear the black and gold in the history of one of the NFL’s best franchise
