Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger
Ben Roethlisberger may not have been as bad as Devin Bush against the Bengals in Week 12, but as a quarterback, nobody is more important to the success of the team than him… and the results were far from pretty.
Big Ben let it fly 41 times against the Bengals but earned just 263 passing yards. However, the box score made him look better than he actually was. If you take away his garbage-time touchdown drive when Pittsburgh was down 38 points late in the fourth and Cincinnati already pulled some of their starters, Roethlisberger would have finished the game with 194 yards, 0 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and a lost fumble, via ESPN.
Ben had another pick that was in and out of the hands of a Bengals defensive back late in the game as well. Though he obviously wasn’t getting a lot of help from his offensive line or running game, he has proven time and again that he’s not physically carrying this team when things aren’t going well.
In what has been the most disappointing season of his NFL career, Ben Roethlisberger finished Week 12 with a 65.4 passer rating and a 28.3 QBR in the blowout loss. The arrow is pointing down for Big Ben right now.
