4 takeaways from Pittsburgh Steelers gritty win vs Ravens in Week 13

Ben Roethlisberger is trending up
Early in the game, I was really nervous that we were going to see the same Ben Roethlisberger we saw against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12 — one we would love to erase from our memory. As Big Ben struggled to convert a single third down early against Baltimore, I thought this game could have headed in a very different direction.
Fortunately, Roethlisberger was able to rally his troops for a very respectable second half that included 17 fourth-quarter points. With the game (and perhaps the season) on the line, Roethlisberger didn’t disappoint as he marched his offense down the field late in the game for multiple scores — one of which gave him yet another comeback win.
Admittedly, Ben’s stat line wasn’t overly impressive. He finished the evening completing 21 of 31 passes for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns. However, he should have had another deep touchdown pass in the first half that went right through the hands of Diontae Johnson.
Regardless, Ben made good decisions and showed good poise and accuracy in this contest. Though 20 points shouldn’t be the standard, the Steelers will have a chance to win every game down the stretch if Roethlisberger can keep playing like this.
