John Metchie lll falls in the draft

The Steelers should most definitely draft an offensive lineman in the 2nd round of the draft. No one will not dispute that especially if they end up drafting a quarterback with their 1st round pick. If however, John Metchie lll is sitting there in the late 2nd round after the Steelers have selected, they should trade up and snag him.

This would be a perfect scenario for the Steelers because Metchie lll is a great option for the slot. Juju Smith-Schuster is likely to test free agency so he would be a great replacement for next season.

John Metchie lll does have a knee injury. He tore his ACL last season during the SEC Championship game. This of course has teams worried and is why his draft stock has gone down. He is a 1st round talent but with questions about his health, could easily drop into the late 2nd or even early 3rd round.

Before his injury Metchie lll had 96 receptions for 1,142 yards and 8 touchdowns. He is an impact player when on the field and the Steelers should trade up to draft him if he does fall in the draft. He expects to be good to go by June so there should be optimism that he could be ready by the start of the 2022 season.
