Steelers could trade WR Chase Claypool

Chase Claypool might be a shocker on this list, but it’s possible he could be on the move. The receiving group is low on talent right now and that could cause issues with trading this player. If a team comes calling and is willing to offer Pittsburgh something that they can’t refuse, they will need to consider it.

This is still a young player that is coming off a down year after a breakout rookie season. His receiving yards stayed about the same, but his touchdowns dropped significantly. That is a little concerning because he is such a big target and should do great in the red zone.

It seems like this could be one of the least likely options for the Steelers to trade on this list when you look at the other names in this article. The way this makes sense on Claypool leaving would be for an impressive pick coming back to the team so a draft pick could be used to fill in his spot. Another option would be including him into a package to move up for a quarterback.

There are teams in the top ten that are looking for a big target that brings athleticism along with them. This player would bring those things on the cheap for the next couple of seasons. Adding picks and someone like Claypool could move the needle to acquire a pick to draft someone like Malik Willis or Kenny Pickett.
