The Pittsburgh Steelers fixed many of their holes this offseason, but here are three glaring areas of weakness following the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Steelers had a pretty eventful offseason. They made some splash signings in free agency and loaded up on offensive talent early in the 2022 NFL draft. Yet despite their efforts to improve their roster for the upcoming season, a few positions were either neglected or the front office didn’t do enough to improve them.

On paper, I do believe that Pittsburgh has a better roster this year, but there are a few questionable players at relatively weak positions that could get them into trouble in 2022. Here are the Steelers three biggest remaining weaknesses on their roster:

Steelers offensive tackles

I can’t argue with the Steelers for taking Dan Moore in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft or for spending a third-round pick on Chukwuma Okorafor back in 2018. So far, both players have already outplayed their draft status, in my opinion.

However, what I can fault the team for is being too content when it comes to such an important position. There’s a reason offensive tackles are one of the highest-paid positions in football. Instead of investing good draft capital into the position, the Steelers are perfectly content running it back with a few young tackles who just weren’t very good.

This isn’t to say that Moore and Okorafor can’t get any better. However, there was virtually no effort made to improve the offensive tackle position this offseason. Pittsburgh should be rummaging through the remaining free agent pool to at least add another competent player to the mix in 2022.

With some questionable starters and an underwhelming swing tackle in Joe Haeg, the steelers shouldn’t be so content with what they have at the OT position.
