Special teams (3):

There was some question as to whether or not the Steelers made the right decision last year letting punter Jordan Berry go in favor of the much younger Pressley Harvin III. The rookie had some impressive punts during the 2021 season, but also some real head-scratchers.

Still, with just Cameron Nizialek on the roster as his only competition, this is Harvin’s job to lose. If it’s close, the Steelers are still going to give the job to the guy they spent draft capital on.

Meanwhile, Chris Boswell may be next in line for a rich new extension thanks to his remarkable play over the past three seasons. He’s a top-four kicker in the NFL for my money.

I have Christian Kuntz rounding out the unit as the long snapper once again this year. Gunner Olszewski is projected to be the return specialist — which is where the bulk of his workload will come — but I already have him listed with the receivers.

It will be interesting to see how close this prediction will prove to be as the Pittsburgh Steelers make their final cuts. Barring some veteran additions, I can see the 53-man roster playing out very close to this in September.
