The Steelers offense played a strategic balanced attack against the Panthers on Sunday in one of their best efforts.

Not many expected the Steelers to come out of this game on top with their previous performance against the Ravens. The offense was able to go out there and do what many thought the Panthers would implement onto the black and gold. Pittsburgh was able to run the ball successfully and get Mitch Trubisky into a rhythm in a run-first offensive attack.

Mitch Trubisky did not do anything great, but he played better than last week

Not many players are in more of a doghouse from the fanbase than Trubisky as he entered this game. Other than his solid performance in the second half against Tampa Bay a couple of months ago, his play time has been met with disappointment. He was able to be concise with his passes and make safe plays when his number was called to throw the ball.

Grade: B

Safety seems to be the best option as Pittsburgh is currently undefeated this season when they do not turn the ball over. Trubisky was able to make some plays down the field and lead some long drives, which were mostly set up from the run game. The Steelers backup did his job to help this team get to victory while Kenny Pickett works his way back from a concussion.

The Steelers running game played one of its best games of the season

Najee Harris has been playing at a better level since the bye week for the most part. He did have a couple of games where his hesitation limited him behind an offensive line that is spotty, to say the least. Jaylen Warren continues to make the most of his touches as the undrafted rookie shows that he deserves to get the ball in his hands more.

Grade: A

Not much else that you can say for this group as there were three touchdowns on the ground for the Steelers. The rushing attack by the black and gold allowed for long sustained drives that cashed in more times than not. Totaling over 150 yards on the ground is a great way to win a football game with a backup at quarterback in the game.

Both receiver and tight end groups were able to have solid contributions

George Pickens not getting many targets his way continues to be a problem, but he still makes the most of his limited opportunities. Diontae Johnson had a great game that saw him make both smart and explosive plays. Pat Freiermuth did not get much attention in the offensive attack as the tight ends pitch in in run blocking.

Grade: B

None of them getting a passing touchdown limited their grade some, but they were able to make some big plays down the field. Freiermuth and company did a nice job helping to run block, but they did not get too many targets. Overall, it was a good effort from this group that kept drives moving downfield.

It was a near dominant game in the trenches for the offensive line

Tons of scrutiny has fallen onto this group for the inconsistent play from the offensive line. That is fair as this group has not been able to play well enough, which has been a big factor in why this offense has not been great in 2022. They did play well against Carolina on Sunday, and they deserve credit where credit is due.

Grade: B+

For the most part, this group was able to dominate the trenches during most of the contest. They did allow a sack, but that is not terrible with the kind of pass rushers that the Panthers employ. They only allowed two quarterback hits, one sack, and led the way for over 150 rushing yards.

Steelers offense overall grade: B+

It was a group effort and most of the offensive players were able to make positive impacts this past weekend. They were able to play a smart brand of football to control the game in their favor against the Panthers. The Steelers just had one of their best offensive outputs in a game this season.
