4. Steelers could target OT Darnell Wright

Darnell Wright is one of the better offensive tackles at the Senior Bowl this year. Some media outlets believe he will go somewhere early in the second round, and the Pittsburgh Steelers just so happen to have two second-round picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Though I don’t like Wright as much as true left tackle prospects like Paris Johnson Jr. and Broderick Jones, he’s a quality, versatile football player who has experience at both left and right tackle. Meanwhile, the Steelers have two unspectacular tackles and neither should be guaranteed starting jobs for the long haul. Dan Moore was underwhelming in his second season as a starter, while many believe that Chukwuma Okorafor is overpaid for what the team is getting out of him.

Wright has great size (6’5”, 342 pounds) and good length (34 1/8” arms). Despite his thick frame, he has nimble feet for a player his size. This was on display often during one-on-one reps at the Senior Bowl.

Wright may not project as a Pro Bowl tackle in the NFL, but he would still be a noticeable upgrade over either OT for the Steelers. Pittsburgh could target the Tennessee product with an early second-round pick and he has the potential to be a long-time starter in the NFL.
