With Aaron Rodgers officially a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team is going to have to contend with more media buzz than ever. We’ve already seen a ramp-up in coverage leading into his signing, but once the 2025 season gets going, all eyes will be on Rodgers for what could likely be his final season in the NFL.
The Steelers are scheduled to play the NFC North this season, as well as other teams Rodgers has a notable history with. Let’s take a look at some of the games on Pittsburgh’s 2025 schedule that are even more intriguing now that Rodgers is under center for the Black and Gold.
The most intriguing Aaron Rodgers games for Pittsburgh Steelers fans to watch in 2025
Week 1 @ New York Jets
Week 1 is always exciting, but Week 1 revenge games are even better. Rodgers, of course, spent two disappointing seasons with the Jets and wasn’t crazy about how his time came to an end there. This game has a 1 PM kickoff, but it’ll feel like a primetime matchup.
The Jets replaced Rodgers with former Steelers quarterback Justin Fields, and both teams will look to prove, primarily through their defensive prowess, that they made the right decision at quarterback. This game sets the tone for Pittsburgh the rest of the way, and a loss would make the media storm swirl much more violently over Pittsburgh.
Rodgers' career stats vs. Jets: 3-1 record, 59.9% completion percentage, 1,204 yards, 6 TD, 0 INT
Week 4 vs. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings are the first NFC North team on Pittsburgh’s schedule, and another chance at some manufactured revenge for Rodgers. Minnesota was one of the teams Rodgers was interested in during the offseason, but they held firm that second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy was their guy now and for the future.
Of course, the Vikings are one of the NFC North teams Rodgers tormented during his 18-year career with the Packers, though not as consistently as the other two. Still, it’s a game that has extended storylines beyond his former rivalry.
Rodgers' career stats vs. Vikings: 17-12-1 record, 67.3% completion percentage, 7,401 yards, 59 TD, 11 Int
Week 8 vs. Green Bay Packers
It can’t get any bigger than the Week 8 matchup against the Packers. It’s Rodgers’ first opportunity to play his former team and likely his final opportunity to become just the fifth quarterback in NFL history to beat all 32 franchises.
While we’ll miss out on the Lambeau Field reaction to Rodgers taking the field, he’ll have Steelers fans in Acrisure Stadium cheering him on as the Steelers look for just their second victory over the franchise since Green Bay beat them in Super Bowl XLV.
Week 12 @ Chicago Bears
Rodgers, famously, is a part-owner of the Bears. Maybe not financially, but on the field, no quarterback in NFL history has bullied the Bears like Rodgers has. He hasn’t lost to Chicago since 2018, but he also hasn’t played the Bears since leaving Green Bay.
With Chicago moving forward with Caleb Williams as its franchise quarterback, the Bears will no doubt be looking to ruin Rodgers’ likely final chance to bully them in their own house one last time.
Rodgers’ career stats vs. Bears: 24-5 record, 67.3% completion percentage, 6,965 yards, 64 TD, 10 Int
Week 13 vs. Buffalo Bills
Just like Rodgers has bullied the Bears, the Bills have been a bully to the Steelers in recent years. The Steelers shocked the Bills in Week 1 of the 2021 season, but Buffalo has since beaten Pittsburgh by a combined score of 69-20 in the two most recent meetings, including the 2024 playoff matchup.
This one might be more of an opportunity for revenge for Pittsburgh as they look to get back on track toward the top of the AFC mountain with Rodgers. But don’t forget, Rodgers’ first season with the Jets was ruined against the Bills when he tore his Achilles in Week 1. Rodgers, nor the Jets, have beaten Buffalo since.
Rodgers’ Career Stats vs. Bills: 3-4 record, 57.4% completion percentage, 1,347 yards, 7 TD, 7 Int

Week 14 @ Detroit Lions
The Steelers finish up their NFC North slate at Ford Field against the Detroit Lions. The Lions are somewhat in the middle on Rodgers' bully record against his former division, thanks to Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. Still, Rodgers ruined a few Thanksgiving dinners in Michigan through the years, too, especially in 2015.
This one won’t be on Thanksgiving, but it will be just four days before Christmas.
Rodgers’ career stats vs. Lions: 18-8 record, 65% completion percentage, 6,551 yards, 54 TD, 12 Int
Week 18 vs Baltimore Ravens
Rodgers doesn’t have much history against Baltimore, having played the Ravens just four times. This game will mark his sixth assuming health, but it could be the most crucial game of the season.
Most predict that Pittsburgh will still hover around a 9-8 or 10-7 record by season’s end, and if that is the case, Pittsburgh will need to defend home turf to secure the best playoff seeding possible. It could be Rodgers’ final regular-season game, too, making for one more notable bookmark in the NFL’s most intense rivalry.
For what it’s worth, Rodgers has never lost to the Ravens as a full-time starter.
Rodgers Career Stats vs. Ravens: 3-1 record, 62.7% completion percentage, 911 yards, 7 TD, 4 Int
