The Steelers edged out the Ravens in a typical AFC North battle, but please don't fall for these three overreactions on a short week.

While fans were at the edge of their seat through the whole game, the Steelers found a way to pull out a huge win over the Ravens this week. They now have to turn around on a short week and play another divisional team, but that hasn’t stopped the fanbase from finding overreactions.

This is common after big games and even more common when Pittsburgh wins in such dramatic fashion. As per usual, there are some notable overreactions to listen to, but the win on Sunday has created a frenzy that just isn’t worth your time. Here are three major overreactions that you can’t fall for this week.

Steelers aren’t playing Mike Williams enough

The Steelers offense regressed against the Ravens. The running lanes were tougher to come by and the passing game looked like a shell of what it had been. Add in a timely mistake by Van Jefferson and fans were outraged that Mike Williams wasn’t seeing the field every snap. The question has been posed numerous times: Why trade for the guy and not use him?

The fact of the matter is, Williams played in nearly a third of the offensive snaps this week, a sharp jump from his first game. Jefferson saw his lowest snap count outside of the week he got injured. Williams likely needs time to adjust and learn the playbook. Jefferson is more familiar with the team given he has been here all offseason.

In a game where inches mattered, rolling with the more familiar option is the safer bet. Not to make anyone more upset, I won’t be shocked by similar snap counts on a short week. Afterward, the team has a long stretch where they can really work him into the offense. Until then, we need to accept that trading for someone in the middle of the year forces a slower pace on the new team.

Patrick Queen has arrived for Steelers

While his play has progressively gotten better every week, Patrick Queen finally looked like the dynamic linebacker the Steelers hoped to have gotten when they shelled out big money to acquire him. He played with a chip on his shoulder last week, and it was a huge reason this defense played well.

The issue is that up until then, we hadn’t seen that much great from him. Considering his cap hit balloons next year, he still has to prove that he is worth the mega-deal he got if he wants to remain on this roster. He elevated his play this week, but he needs to maintain that level of play over multiple weeks.

Russell Wilson is officially cooked

While Queen had his best game this week, Russell Wilson struggled for the first time on his new team. The Steelers passing game was a mess from multiple fronts, but Wilson certainly didn’t do the team any favors. To the shock of very few, plenty of fans took to social media and demanded that the team go back to Justin Fields.

While the game wasn’t good enough, Wilson still scrapped by and got the win. On a day where the tackles struggled to block and the scheme was easily countered, he didn’t make that many catastrophic mistakes. He needs to clean things up this week against the Browns, but the sky isn’t falling on him yet, and he has earned the starting role for the foreseeable future.
