There are some prospects who could be too hard to pass up if they slide far enough.

It's always safe to skim over who the Pittsburgh Steelers bring to town with one of their 30 pre-draft visits. It exposes the franchise's interest in multiple players in the upcoming NFL draft who could end up with the team. While the Steelers have a plan for the first round, it doesn't mean things are permanent. Different situations happen leading up to the draft each year, and it won't be different this time.

Different prospects get selected higher and lower than what most experts believe. It's common for a highly rated prospect to slide in the first round. Pittsburgh might have a list, but Steelers general manager Omar Khan remains flexible. If a big-name player heading into draft night starts to slide down draft boards, the Steelers could swoop in and take them with their top pick.

Stranger things have happened during the NFL draft, and it could benefit them.

Pittsburgh Steelers would be thrilled if one of these NFL draft prospects fall

Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Most draft evaluators believe Will Johnson remains a top-15 pick in the upcoming draft, but nothing is certain. He has endured an irritating pre-draft process, but all signs point to him still being a top selection when the first round comes.

The Steelers didn't have Khan or Mike Tomlin at the Michigan pro day, but that was due to Aaron Rodgers being in town for a visit.

It's unlikely that Johnson will slip to the 21st pick in the upcoming NFL draft, but it's not impossible. Pittsburgh assumes he won't be close to their top pick, but he could slide due to his injury and speed concerns.

If Johnson does fall to their first-round pick, the Steelers would be crazy not to consider taking the top cornerback. Johnson gives 100% effort each play and has shown he can match up against top talent.

Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

It's hard to imagine the Steelers taking a quarterback in the first round due to the litany of issues across their roster. With that in mind, if a top quarterback in this draft class somehow slips to their top pick, they could get bold. Shedeur Sanders will probably land in the top ten selections when the process is complete. He has talent, but he's slipping in most mock drafts as the event nears.

Tomlin loves football bloodlines, and Sanders is the son of football legend Deion Sanders. This young quarterback possesses a strong arm and the uncanny ability to extend plays with his feet. Pittsburgh will host Sanders with one of their 30 pre-draft visits, but it's hard to imagine him being available with their top pick. If he's sitting there, it would be good value at that point.

If he falls to their choice, it will produce a difficult decision.

Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

Finding a replacement for Najee Harris is at the top of the Steeler's "to-do" list. The upcoming NFL draft has plenty of talented running backs throughout the seven rounds. Pittsburgh is in a good spot, but they could consider a top running back like Ashton Jeanty in the first round if he's available. You could make a case for him being the choice if he makes it to their pick.

Steelers running back coach Eddie Faulkner was at Boise State's pro day. That is noteworthy since Tomlin and Khan refuse to take West Coast trips during the pro-day circuit. A positional coach going to Jeanty's pro day keeps him in the mix for the Steelers' top selection. It's hard to imagine this star running back slipping outside the top 15, but Pittsburgh could be his home if he's available.
