The November 10 NFL trade deadline is rapidly approaching, and we are getting a clear look at which teams could be having a fire sale this year. As always, if the Pittsburgh Steelers make any noise at the deadline, we can expect them to be buyers.

Mike McCarthy's team sits on a 4-2 record as they prepare to take on the New Orleans Saints in Paris, France. On paper, the Steelers have only been an average team, but there are other teams that are far worse off this season.

We're too early in the season for any teams to be officially eliminated from playoff contention, but if they're being honest, even their coaches and players know they are already doomed. These four teams already have the makings of sellers at the trade deadline, and the Steelers could take advantage.

The Pittsburgh Steelers could find trade opportunities with these 4 NFL sellers

Los Angeles Chargers (0-6)

Nobody saw this coming before the start of the season. With head coach Jim Harbaugh, quarterback Justin Herbert, and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, most thought the Los Angeles Chargers would be competitive this season. That has been anything but the case.

At 0-6, the Chargers hold the worst record in the NFL entering Week 7, and they would essentially have to be perfect the rest of the way to make the playoffs (which isn't going to happen). Because of this dismal season, there's a chance LA could clean house by firing their GM and most of their coaching staff.

Either way, this is one team the Steelers should be shopping from before the trade deadline. Wide receiver Ladd McConkey would be the perfect target, assuming the Chargers were willing to cut him loose. Omar Khan could also check in on cornerbacks Tarheeb Still or Cam Hart and safety Elijah Molden.

Miami Dolphins (0-5)

We knew before the season began that the Miami Dolphins were going to be a bad football team. But this was all part of the plan. Miami ditched players on bad contracts and traded wide receiver Jaylen Waddle for a first-round pick with the idea of tanking this season.

Now that they are 0-5 and their bottom-feeder status has been made official, the Dolphins may have even more incentive to unload players at the NFL trade deadline.

The Steelers could be in the market for a receiver, and while the Dolphins don't have a go-to target, Malik Washington and Caleb Douglas could be trade candidates who could help Pittsburgh not just in 2026, but could stick around for several years.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-5)

There have already been some trade rumors swirling that the Steelers could go after Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Chris Godwin. While Godwin isn't the same player he used to be, it's not hard to understand the connection.

The Buccaneers sit on a 1-5 record. Their next two games are divisional contests against the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons, so there's a chance they could fight their way back into the NFC South discussion.

But assuming they lose even one of these games, there's every reason to believe the Buccaneers will be sellers at the deadline. The Steelers could come knocking.

Tennessee Titans (1-5)

It's been a long time since things have gone right for the Tennessee Titans... and it's not getting any better in 2026. Their 2025 first overall pick, quarterback Cam Ward, looks like a complete bust. Meanwhile, they have a below-average defense and the 31st-ranked EPA offense, per RBSDM Stats.

The Titans aren't teeming with talent that could be traded at the deadline, but there are a few pieces that should have Khan's eyebrows raised. Veteran safety Amani Hooker is having an excellent season.

The Steelers could also ask about linebacker Cedric Gray, who has one year remaining on his rookie contract and could be part of the long-term linebacker plan.
