Aaron Rodgers is not one to hold back his thoughts on a topic. On Monday, the 42-year-old quarterback joined The Pat McAfee Show, where he went full unfiltered mode. But the Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback also expressed why he's in such good spirits this season.
When asked about the feel of the team and being back with former head coach Mike McCarthy, Rodgers gave a perfect answer.
"I love being back with Mike. Mike and I have a lot of history together. You know, we were in different places when he first came out in '06 to Green Bay, but a lot has happened between then and now..."
Rodgers pointed out the fact that McCarthy was his age back when the long-time head coach was beginning his HC career with the Packers. Rodgers seemed genuine in his response about loving his reunion with his old head coach.

It wasn't always smooth sailing for these two high-profile NFL figures. Despite their extraordinary success over the years, which included a Super Bowl win over the Pittsburgh Steelers following the 2010 season, Rodgers and McCarthy didn't always see eye to eye.
It's nice to know that Rodgers isn't harboring any hurt feelings. Now the focus is on the 2026 season and bringing playoff success back to Pittsburgh as the front office builds a bridge to the next era.
Shortly after discussing his relationship with McCarthy, McAfee asked Rodgers about the current vibe of the team.
"The vibe is good; the vibe is really good. Not as many hangout nights yet, I think the guys were a little tired last week, but there's been some fun hangs... But it's a good time. I love being up here in Latrobe."
In addition to talking about the vibe of the team, Rodgers praised his top wide receiver, DK Metcalf. He also assured McAfee that 'this is the last year' he'll be playing in the NFL.
In 2026, Rodgers put up respectable production from a raw numbers standpoint (24 touchdowns, seven interceptions, 3,322 yards), but his advanced statistics told a different story. The aging quarterback ranked among the league's worst in average depth of target, attempted air yards, and completed air yards per pass attempt.
Now reunited with Coach McCarthy, Rodgers is hoping for a more successful season entering his 22nd and final year in the league. And so far, everyone seems to be on the same page.
