Now that Pittsburgh Steelers fans have finally seen Aaron Rodgers wear the Black and Gold during the first of three minicamp practices, there is a bit of relief knowing that the conversation can get back to what matters: Winning games in 2025.

Still, there are unanswered questions surrounding the months-long wait for the former MVP to make his decision. Rodgers has remained vague about many of the details, but one of the main reasons for the holdup was revealed during his initial press conference.

When asked about a ring on his finger, the veteran passer revealed that he got married earlier this year.

Aaron Rodgers' marriage a likely reason for delayed decision to join Pittsburgh Steelers

First of all, congratulations to the newest Steelers quarterback. Bringing it back to a football and business perspective, the news that Rodgers got married during the offseason helps shed light on why this move didn't happen sooner for the Steelers.

Personal reasons were one of the few explanations that reporters (and Rodgers himself) had for why this process took longer than fans thought it should. We still don't know all the details surrounding other issues that he was working through, but everything seems to be resolved enough for him to put all of his time and energy back into football.

Now that he is on the field for the Steelers, his teammates and coaches have to hope that he will no longer have any distractions that keep him from putting in the work needed to make this move worthwhile.

Pittsburgh is desperate for a season that ends in something more than just a swift playoff exit. A motivated and hopefully healthier Aaron Rodgers is their best chance to do so since Ben Roethlisberger hung up his cleats.

If he can pull that off, all the handwringing over the wait for him to sign will be all but forgotten by next year.
