It’s safe to say, when it comes to Super Bowl LX, the only word that comes to mind for Pittsburgh Steelers fans is hope. As long as they’re in the playoffs, there’s reason to hope that the Steelers can win their seventh Lombardi Trophy, against all odds.
While Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers aren’t looking ahead to the Super Bowl, there’s no harm in keeping watch on potential matchups if Pittsburgh finds a way to run the gauntlet in the AFC. After all, with Rodgers at quarterback, the NFC bracket is especially intriguing.
With the Bears and Packers meeting in the Wild Card Round, Rodgers and Steelers Nation watched to see if Rodgers could potentially get his one last chance to own the Chicago Bears after all or if there was a chance his NFL career could culminate in storybook fashion against the Green Bay Packers on the game’s biggest stage.
With the Bears picking up the win on Saturday night, the possibility of Super Bowl LX featuring the Steelers and Bears lives on, giving Rodgers a special matchup to work towards.
Aaron Rodgers’ path to a Steelers Super Bowl vs. Bears suddenly feels possible
If Rodgers and the Steelers can make it to Super Bowl LX, and that's a big if, there's no better opponent for Rodgers with the Packers out of the way. After spending 18 seasons in Green Bay with a 24-5 record against Chicago, what better way for one of the NFL's top quarterbacks to close his career than to face his biggest rival in a classic Super Bowl matchup back home in California, in the San Francisco 49ers' stadium?
Rodgers missed out on his chance to face the Bears in the regular season, missing the Week 12 matchup after fracturing his wrist the week before. Still, if Rodgers is playing in a Super Bowl, it's only natural to expect he's saved his best football for the postseason. Riding that kind of momentum into Super LX against the Bears, Rodgers could ask for a better opportunity to face the Bears one last time.
Bears fans have faith in first-year head coach Ben Johnson and second-year quarterback Caleb Williams, backed by an opportunistic defense, to run the gauntlet in the NFC. Those same fans have been starved for postseason success, so imagine the torture Bears fans would face if Aaron Rodgers is their final boss of the 2025 season.

Then, Steelers and Bears fans can really begin to imagine the possibility of the Steelers and Bears meeting in the Super Bowl for the first time, with Rodgers getting the ultimate shot to prove he owns the Bears.
