Justin Fields and 4 Steelers whose time in Pittsburgh is coming to an end
Free agency is still months away as free agents will be available to sign deals officially on March 12 of next year. It is always an exciting time as fans love to see what players come and go to their respective franchises. Pittsburgh has been one of the busier teams around that point in the football calendar. It seems like the Steelers could see a good amount of change between now and then.
Many might not love the idea, but Justin Fields is as good as gone unless something massive changes for the remainder of the season. He is the backup to Russell Wilson, who seems primed to get an extension from the Steelers after the campaign is complete. Fields has been a solid contributor for the black and gold, and he won't be the only one saying goodbye to the fans.
Steelers fans must prepare to say goodbye to these free agents
Justin Fields, QB
As mentioned above, Fields will not be with the black and gold next year barring some crazy turn of events. He has been a solid backup for Pittsburgh, but he still hasn't shown enough to gain the starting job. He will do his best to try and find a spot elsewhere so he can try and find a starting job in the NFL. He was a nice acquisition for the Steelers, but fans will have to say goodbye in free agency.
Elandon Roberts, LB
Pittsburgh put the writing on the wall for Elandon Roberts when they took Payton Wilson this past draft. They might play different styles, but adding Wilson and Patrick Queen this past offseason will likely kick Roberts off the team. He should get a healthy market as a free agent, which will price him out of the black and gold uniform. It's not impossible for him to return, but it is an unlikely scenario.
James Daniels, OG
Much like Roberts, James Daniels was shown his final year in Pittsburgh when the Steelers took Mason McCormick. Sadly, Daniels suffered a season-ending injury early into the schedule. It could affect his market as a free agent, despite his quality of play before he got hurt. They want to keep getting younger on the offensive line, and there is no spot for Daniels anymore.

Cameron Sutton, CB
Many thought Cam Sutton would be the Steeler's savior at slot cornerback, but he has not played well. Beanie Bishop is starting to play better as a rookie, so it seems like Sutton could be shown the door if he can't get things figured out. Pittsburgh's staff seems to like the veteran cornerback and the versatility he brings, but if he can't start to correct his current career trajectory, then he could be out.
Mike Williams, WR
He might not have been the upgrade at receiver many fans wanted, but Mike Williams was seen as better than nothing for the Steelers before the deadline. He started strong after scoring a touchdown in his first game with Pittsburgh, but everything has come to a screeching halt. He hasn't been on the field much, and his lack of targets is concerning. Williams's stay with the Steelers could be short-lived.
