It's sad but true.

As we glued ourselves to social media during the NFL Schedule Release, we were eager to see the Pittsburgh Steelers' 2025 schedule finally come together. But more interesting than the schedule release itself are the creative, witty, and hilarious schedule release videos.

The Los Angeles Chargers' social media team should run a masterclass on this, and they've done it again. Playing off the hype and popularity of the new Minecraft movie, the Chargers released their 2025 regular season schedule in the form of a Minecraft video, trolling each team perfectly.

Fast forward to the 2:10 mark of their schedule release video on X. That's when the Chargers' Week 10 matchup against the Steelers comes in... and the shots fired are hysterical.

The video has two Minecraft characters dressed in Steelers garb entering a mine with two signs leading to separate cart tracks: one reads 'Contend' and the other reads 'Rebuild'. The characters take opposite paths, but meet up in the same spot regardless, which is followed by a sign that reads 'Warning: Track ends in 9'8''.'

If you don't pause the video, you might miss this clever jab. This was clearly a shot at the well-known narrative that the Pittsburgh Steelers typically finish with a record around 9-8 every year. The cherry on top was the sign at the end of the dead end that read, 'We do not care,' an ode from Mike Tomlin.

This 25 seconds of comedy gold ends with the Minecraft characters falling off the tracks to their doom in a pit of lava... kind of like how the Steelers have been massacred in their one-and-done playoff appearances in recent years.

The LA Chargers' social media team reminded the Pittsburgh Steelers of their mediocrity

The LA Chargers changed the landscape of NFL Schedule Release Videos, as they took the world by storm with their viral anime video of the Chargers' schedule release in 2022. The Steelers' social team should be taking notes. But more importantly, LA's 2025 schedule release should usher in another reality check for Pittsburgh's decision makers.

It's both sad and comical that the nation recognizes the Steelers as the perennial .500 team—good enough to avoid rock bottom, but never good enough to be taken seriously as a contender. There's a philosophical issue here that Mike Tomlin, Omar Khan, and Art Rooney II must address.

The Pittsburgh Steelers either need to be all in or all out. Fans are fed up with this team doing just enough to keep their head above water each year, and we know they either need to sell out to win now or embrace rebuild mode.

If the Chargers' social media team is taking jabs at the Steelers' unfailing mediocrity, you know it's time for change. At least their 2025 schedule release video gave us a bit of comedic relief from the reality that this franchise is about to repeat that '9-8' record all over again.
