Most of America got to witness the Philadelphia Eagles destroy the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. It was a game that saw the Eagles take command early and never took their foot off the gas. They showed a roster could be built through the draft with a few free-agent additions to bolster the group. Teams will attempt to mimic what the Eagles have accomplished this offseason.
Providing constant reinforcements to the offensive and defensive line is where the Eagles are strongest. They have found consistent production by adding numbers to their trenches in each draft class. It has given them a revolving door of talent, from their starters to depth pieces. With Andy Weidl in charge of the Steeler's draft strategy, expect them to follow a similar approach.
Pittsburgh has Philly connections that could show in the upcoming draft this April.
Steelers Mock Draft Round 1: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss
Philadelphia's front smothered Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense the entire game. One of the factors was their defensive line. They slowed Kansas City's rushing attack and forced Mahomes into uncomfortable situations. The Eagles have youth and talent, whereas Pittsburgh doesn't have much of either.
Taking Walter Nolen here is fantastic value for the Steelers in this mock draft.
If they wish to replicate what the Eagles have, Pittsburgh better get younger in the trenches. Nolen is worthy of a top pick and had a terrific week at the Senior Bowl. Some compared his impressive week at the All-Star event to Aaron Donald. The Steelers have expressed interest in addressing their needs along the defensive line in the draft.
Steelers Mock Draft Round2: Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa
It stinks there are not any Saquon Barkley-level running backs in the draft. They might not land a Barkley-type player, but the Steelers could take an upgrade over Najee Harris. There are conflicting reports if the long-time starter for Pittsburgh will return, but the Steelers must move on. This draft class at the position is stacked with talent and could produce a starter from the late rounds.
Kaleb Johnson is the choice here in Round 2. He might not be as explosive as Barkley, but he has a similar style. He can break off a big run, step up in pass protection, and make some plays when he has to go out and catch a pass. Johnson is not getting much attention as the draft nears, but the Steelers would be wise to take the Iowa product.

Steelers Mock Draft Round 3: Tre Harris, WR, Ole Miss
Philadelphia has a star receiver from Ole Miss with A.J. Brown, so why don't the Steelers dip into the Ole Miss talent pool? They go with Tre Harris here, who has seen his draft stock gain momentum. He has the prototypical size for an incoming NFL receiver, plus the experience and production to back up the hype.
Pittsburgh's need to upgrade the wide receiver position is overwhelming.
Harris might not have the same numbers as Brown coming out of college, but he still commands respect. The Steelers are in the market for an upgrade at receiver, and they could use a legit second option opposite George Pickens. Maybe they will address that need in free agency, but you cannot have enough weapons on offense. Harris would be perfect for Pittsburgh.
