Just hours before the Pittsburgh Steelers' 2025 NFL schedule is officially announced, we've already learned when DK Metcalf will be getting his revenge on his former team, the Seattle Seahawks. On Wednesday, Donny Chedrick of 93.7 The Fan leaked the Steelers vs. Seahawks matchup.

According to the leak, Pittsburgh will host Seattle for their Week 2 home opener on September 14. This early-season matchup means Metcalf won't have to wait long to show the Seahawks why they made a mistake letting him go.

On March 9, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network announced the surprising blockbuster trade that sent Metcalf to the Steelers in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick. With added security at the wide receiver position, Pittsburgh made another shocking move—trading George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys last week.

Metcalf will be the clear number one receiving target in Pittsburgh this year, but the success of his revenge tour against the Seahawks may depend on which quarterback is slinging him the football on September 14.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR DK Metcalf could use Aaron Rodgers to complete revenge tour against the Seattle Seahawks

The hope of the Pittsburgh Steelers since early in the offseason has been Aaron Rodgers joining the club, but that's not guaranteed to happen. Right now, Mason Rudolph is the projected starting quarterback. Unfortunately, outside of a brief three-game stint in 2023, Rudolph has not been kind in aiding wide receivers to impressive production.

To really stick it to the Seahawks, Metcalf would benefit most if Aaron Rodgers were under center for the Steelers. While Rodgers's play has decreased significantly in his old age, he can still throw the deep ball with touch and accuracy. This is where Metcalf thrives.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks are anxious to see what their new-look offense can do in the post-DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett era. Catching them early in the season is probably best, as quarterback Sam Darnold and company will still be trying to figure things out.

The Steelers also get an advantage as Seattle will be traveling across three time zones from the West Coast to the East Coast for this Week 2 matchup. Historically, these contests have favored the teams hosting.

Just like linebacker Patrick Queen in his first performance against the Baltimore Ravens last year, DK Metcalf is going to do everything in his power to put up the performance of a lifetime against the Seahawks and remind his team of what they'll be missing in 2025 and beyond.
