Steelers fans have anticipated seeing DK Metcalf stepping onto a practice field for the Pittsburgh Steelers for months. Now that he and Aaron Rodgers have arrived for minicamp, fans are getting their first look at what they hope will be a monumental change at the wide receiver position.
While Metcalf has similar measurables to former wideout George Pickens, the different jersey number isn’t the only difference Steelers fans can notice. Metcalf has one of the most impressive physiques in all of sports, and even in a long-sleeved shirt and going at a comfortable pace through drills and routes, he’s impossible to miss on the practice field.

A promising first look at the Rodgers–Metcalf duo for the Pittsburgh Steelers
Of course, the best part is seeing him catch passes from Rodgers for the first time. While the new tandem met up at UCLA shortly after Metcalf was dealt to the Steelers from Seattle, it's one more step to seeing the promising duo make splash plays on Sundays this fall.
“DK’s been blowing me up for a while, you know, we got to get together out west,” Rodgers said after practice Tuesday. “But, I’ve gone against him a number of times. He’s big, athletic, fast, got great hands, ball skills, but the thing that really excites me the most is his character. I think he’s a high-character guy.”

Naturally, Steelers fans are hopeful to see a new face emerge next to Metcalf, whether it be someone inside or outside the building. Perhaps Rodgers has some potential options in mind that the team can try to pursue.
Still, with a small preview of Metcalf on the outside and a Hall of Fame quarterback slinging him the rock ahead of this season, there’s plenty of reason to begin to build excitement about what the monstrous receiver brings to the table.
