The Pittsburgh Steelers just wrapped up training camp and are preparing for their second preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers... but we always have enough time to poke a little fun at the Dallas Cowboys. On Wednesday, the NFL Top 100 continued its countdown of the best players leading up to the 2025 season, but nobody expected to see Micah Parsons show up so soon.
As the league counted down players 40-31, Parsons made a shocking appearance, landing in the No. 36 spot on the list. Needless to say, the football world lost its marbles over this bizarre low ranking.
For whatever reason, Parsons dropped 19 spots on the list from the 2024 season as he narrowly topped defensive players like Broncos' Nick Bonitto (No. 38) and Ravens' Roquan Smith (No. 40). Now Steelers fans can't help but grin ear to ear as T.J. Watt's spot on the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2025 has yet to be revealed.
Pittsburgh Steelers fans get the last laugh over Dallas Cowboys fans with Micah Parsons falling short of T.J. Watt
There isn't a shot T.J. Watt is being left off the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2025 list. Even with his down season in 2024, Watt is expected to show up high on the list, and the fact that he's already outlasted superstar Micah Parsons is something Steelers fans can hold over Cowboys fans.
To be fair, there's no reason on earth Parsons should have fallen outside of the top 35 players in the NFL—especially in rankings voted on by the players themselves. This was truly wild to see. If we aren't considering positional value and slotting a bunch of quarterbacks at the top of the list, Parsons deserved to land closer to the top 10 than the top 40 on these rankings.
I would take the NFL's Top 100 Players rankings with a grain of salt. These same players somehow ranked Pittsburgh Steelers high-variance linebacker Patrick Queen ahead of four-time First-Team All-Pro defensive lineman Cameron Heyward.

Like Watt did before training camp, Parsons is awaiting a contract extension that will make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. His time will come soon enough. Respected talent evaluators know how talented Micah Parsons is and how valuable he is to the Dallas Cowboys.
Still, we can have a little fun in pointing out his No. 36 spot on the NFL Top 100 list. We'll soon find out where T.J. Watt lands, but we can feel confident he's one of the remaining 34 players who have yet to hear their names called.
