Many talents from the United Football League will be looking for NFL opportunities with the conclusion of the regular season. It was a campaign full of intriguing storylines, and those players who failed to make the playoffs can start negotiating with NFL teams. The Pittsburgh Steelers could have interest in several top talents from the UFL to help boost competition at the bottom of their roster.
Steelers General Manager Omar Khan has found ways to locate upgrades for his team in the past. They are not afraid to consider spring football players to help create stronger competition at training camp. Don't be surprised if the Steelers infuse talent from the UFL to try and push different positions. Some interesting names balled out in the United Football League and would be perfect additions.
Pittsburgh Steelers could sign UFL's best players from this season to boost their roster
Cornell Powell, WR, DC Defenders
It was an admirable conclusion to the UFL season for Cornell Powell, and he will hope to have an even better playoff performance. He rose to the ranks as the top receiver in the UFL, which will get him NFL calls. Pittsburgh has a handful of receivers on the roster, but they could use different options. They have a gaping hole at the second receiver spot, and Powell could be another option for the team.
Powell produced an eye-popping stat line of 418 yards off 29 receptions and seven touchdowns through nine games.
Landing a fix for the Steelers' issues at the receiver position from the UFL is unlikely. Powell is an interesting weapon for the DC Defenders, and he could push for the final roster spot at the position. You cannot deny his production in the United Football League. If he didn't have a slow start to the year, he might've been in MVP consideration.

Ajene Harris, CB, Arlington Renegades
One of the best defensive players in the UFL this season was Ajene Harris. The cornerback played terrifically all season, and he will garner plenty of NFL intrigue. The spring league veteran has only gotten better from the last campaign until now. He stood out, producing three interceptions, 11 pass breakups, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and 47 total tackles.
He is an undersized cornerback who could be an interesting addition for the Steelers.
Beanie Bishop and Donte Kent appear to be the only options to become the slot cornerback for Pittsburgh. Adding Harris into the fold would provide depth at the position both in the slot and on the outside. Harris had a magnificent campaign, which should land him an NFL opportunity this preseason. Khan would be crazy not to consider adding this veteran defensive back.
Tavante Beckett, LB, San Antonio Brahmas
It appears safe to say that Tavante Beckett was the best linebacker in the United Football League this season. He covered the entire field for the San Antonio Brahmas defense during the whole campaign. He should get plenty of NFL calls coming his way. Adding a linebacker might not be on top of the Steelers' to-do list, but signing a talent like Beckett would boost their depth at the position.
Beckett had an outstanding performance in 2025, which saw him produce 83 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, and four pass breakups. He was the best linebacker across the league, and many teams would love to add him before the preseason. Pittsburgh has plenty of players at the position, but adding Beckett would push Carson Bruener and Mark Robinson for their roster spots.
