It's hard to believe the 2025 NFL Draft has already ended. Months of build-up to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers fill out their draft class. They accomplished most of their tasks heading into the event. They addressed their most pressing needs, but that doesn't mean the work is complete. Undrafted free agency happens fast in the NFL, and Pittsburgh will make some additions.

There are interesting options scheduled to hit free agency. The Steelers could use some guys to sign onto the roster as UDFAs and push for roster spots come training camp. No one should expect countless undrafted players to join The Black and Gold, but they should have several additions. A handful of names make sense for the team to sign as undrafted players.

Pittsburgh Steelers must target these UDFAs following the NFL Draft

Bru McCoy, WR, Tennessee

Despite the Steeler's interest in several receivers in the pre-draft process, they neglected the area of concern. They have many weapons at the position, but the future remains bleak with George Pickens and Calvin Austin III as pending free agents in 2026. The team will want to sign an undrafted rookie at the position. Bru McCoy could be a nice option to push for a roster spot.

McCoy has excellent size for the receiver position, standing at 6'3 and weighing 220 pounds. Pittsburgh could use some more options at the position, and they will have to settle for a UDFA unless they sign a veteran free agent. McCoy might not be a flashy addition, but he could add some snaps on special teams. Steelers receivers coach Zach Azzanni was at his pro day.

Hollin Pierce, OT, Rutgers

Pittsburgh remains one of the most invested teams when it comes to scouting the trenches. Intriguing names made it to undrafted free agency. Hollin Pierce is someone the team could have a heavy interest in. He has fantastic size to mold at the next level. He is a monster as an offensive tackle and could be a hidden gem. If he develops with the right team, he could be an interesting find.

Adding to the offensive line must be a priority with unproven options on the roster. They must consider bringing in a young player who could earn the swing tackle spot. Pierce has played against top competition and could help the Steelers at training camp. Having Calvin Anderson as your only depth option at the position could become an issue.

CJ Dippre, TE, Alabama

It's not too often that a pro day option becomes an undrafted free agent. Pittsburgh had high-level officials at CJ Dippre's pro day at Alabama. He played for the Crimson Tide and has plenty of playing experience going into the NFL. Tight end might not be a position of need, but they should add a rookie to the group to push roster spots. The Steelers' offensive coordinator loves tight ends, and he could want one.

They didn't make any impactful additions this offseason at the position, which could be troublesome for Arthur Smith. Adding a UDFA might be their best option moving forward. Dippre has been a staple at Alabama, and he is a versatile player. His flexibility at different positions could push Conner Heyward off the roster. Neither are great blockers, but they could play different positions.

Shilo Sanders, S, Colorado

After a rough pre-draft process, not many are surprised that Shilo Sanders went undrafted. He is the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders. Shilo's brother, Shedeur Sanders, became a big topic in this NFL Draft. The safety might not be terrific, but Pittsburgh could use help in the secondary. The Steelers struggled to address the need this offseason.

Minkah Fitzpatrick and DeShon Elliott are a reliable duo, but one is slowing down, and the other is a pending free agent next year. Pittsburgh doesn't seem to have much of a plan at the position moving forward. Signing Sanders as a free agent should help the team provide better competition at training camp. He is a slow player, but he should use his smarts to give himself a shot in the NFL.

Donovan McMillon, S, Pittsburgh

Maybe the Steelers can't figure out their future at the safety position this year, but they could add bodies to the group. Donovan McMillon is a local product out of Pitt to provide some reinforcements. He began his college career at Florida for two seasons before transferring to Pittsburgh. It was the best move he could've made to resurrect his career.

He couldn't find a way to get drafted, but McMillon should be a nice pickup as a UDFA. The safety has been a reliable starter for the Panthers over the past two years. He has been a tackling machine, racking up over 100 combined tackles each season at Pitt. McMillon won't provide much splash material for the Steelers, but he could play in the box and give quality snaps on special teams.
