The Pittsburgh Steelers' 2025 schedule is full of tough opponents, but it’s not as though Pittsburgh isn’t in a position to make the playoffs. Without a doubt, the easiest part of the schedule is early on before the Week 5 BYE week, but there are some easier opponents late in the schedule, too.
Of course, that’s where the Steelers find their biggest trap game of the 2025 season.
Wedged between home matchups against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills is a road trip to Chicago. Famously, Aaron Rodgers is an unofficial part-owner of the Bears, but that doesn’t guarantee a victory in Week 12.
Chicago Trip Could Be the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Biggest Slip-Up Spot
Naturally, most NFL fans write off the Bears. They haven’t been particularly good in some time. It’s easy for Steelers fans to overlook them in particular because the two historic franchises only meet every four years. Nonetheless, the Bears are 3-1 against Pittsburgh in their last four meetings.
The Steelers did walk away with a win in 2021, their most recent meeting. However, that was in Pittsburgh. The Steelers haven’t actually beaten the Bears in Chicago since 1995.
Just as Rodgers holds a 24-5 record over Chicago, the past won’t mean much in this matchup. The Bears are future-focused with Caleb Williams at quarterback and Ben Johnson as their new head coach.
It’s a strong roster, just as it was last year in Chicago. The franchise is banking on Johnson to get the most out of its players just as he did in Detroit. Coming into that Week 12 matchup, the Bears will be quite battle-tested, and likely hovering around .500. In the two games prior, the Bears host the Giants and visit the Vikings, which are competitive, yet winnable games if Chicago makes some expected strides under Johnson.
If that’s the case, the Bears could be rolling in with momentum. Meanwhile, the Steelers could be licking their wounds from a tough AFC North matchup against Cincinnati in Week 11, with a huge Week 13 matchup against the Bills on the horizon.
One More Chance for Chicago to Flip the Script on Rodgers
Of course, Rodgers will be the last player on the roster overlooking the Bears. He has a standard to uphold against that franchise, after all. But the Bears know just as well that this is their last opportunity to stick it to Rodgers in their own backyard.
The aforementioned Lions ruined Rodgers' final dance in Lambeau to close the 2022 season. For what it’s worth, Minnesota got one over on Rodgers last year, too. That just leaves the Bears and the Packers to make one last impact on the future Hall of Famer before he calls it a career. Green Bay will offer a competitive game, but the Steelers do get that one at home. But even that franchise can’t match the level of revenge Chicago will be looking to extract against him.
