The NFL sure knows how to make an entrance. We already knew the opponents the Pittsburgh Steelers would face during the 2025 season. What we didn't know was the order of the games. Now, a schedule leak has dropped that points to Aaron Rodgers signing with the Steelers.

Just hours before the official schedule release on NFL Network, the Ozzy account on X, which has proven accurate with schedule leaks, revealed that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be on the road against the New York Jets in Week 1 of the 2025 season.

Fans speculate that this could only mean one thing: Aaron Rodgers is coming to town.

Of course, there's always the chance that the league is looking at this as the Justin Fields revenge game. Fields left the Steelers in free agency to join the Jets, and the polarizing quarterback facing his former team in Week 1 makes for a good enough storyline in and of itself.

Fields will have a chance to get revenge on head coach Mike Tomlin, who made the executive decision to bench Fields entering Week 7 of the 2024 season, despite Fields leading his team to a 4-2 record while chipping in 10 total touchdowns and one interception.

But the NFL may believe we are getting a revenge game from Fields and Rodgers, making this a drama-filled showdown.

The Pittsburgh Steelers could be signing Aaron Rodgers soon after latest NFL schedule leak

I don't think it's a coincidence that the league put the Steelers vs. Jets matchup in the Week 1 slot. All offseason, Pittsburgh has been the favorite to land Rodgers, and things have never felt more real after this schedule leak.

Rodgers hasn't been sold on whether he will play football in 2025, but if he does, the Steelers seem to be the one suitor for the 41-year-old quarterback. And this could become a reality soon. In Week 1, Rodgers would get a chance to stick it to the organization he felt did him wrong.

Watching Justin Fields and Aaron Rodgers in opposite uniforms in Week 1 would be pure gold for football fans in general, let alone Steelers and Jets fans. Their performances in the opener could shape the type of season we are looking at for each quarterback in 2025.

There has been no confirmation that Aaron Rodgers will suddenly sign with the Steelers after this monumental schedule leak, but the breadcrumbs lead to Pittsburgh signing the future Hall of Fame quarterback soon. Get your popcorn ready for this one!
