The Pittsburgh Steelers are starting to heat up during the final stretch of the 2025 season, and the team has Aaron Rodgers to thank. After whipping up his most convincing performance of the season against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14, Rodgers stacked impressive games with a nearly flawless showing against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
The long-time veteran finished the game completing 23 of 27 passes for 224 yards (8.3 yards per attempt) and a pair of touchdowns. This included a few strikes over the middle of the field to DK Metcalf and aided Rodgers to a 125.9 quarterback rating on the night.
Wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling spoke glowingly of Rodgers after the game—calling the four-time MVP quarterback the best to ever play the position.
"I think he's the best quarterback to ever play this game. If he's 65 years old, he can still spin the ball."
"He's always playing chess with the defense and getting guys into spots that are going to get them open."
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a real shot in the postseason if Aaron Rodgers keeps up this momentum
Before his last two games, Rodgers seemed to have hit a slump. The 42-year-old quarterback was averaging just 163.2 yards per game from Week 8 to Week 13, while throwing for just 5.9 yards per attempt and earning a passer rating of only 83.5.
But over the past two weeks, everything changed.
Since the Steelers' Week 14 win over the Ravens, Rodgers is averaging 254 yards per game on 8.3 yards per attempt to go with a combined passer rating of 116.0—a stark improvement from the underwhelming stretch we previously witnessed.
This is a small sample size (just two games), and we need to see Rodgers keep up the momentum. But right now, he's playing with loads of confidence while making more big plays down the field.
Rogers will never be the player he was in Green Bay, but Marquez Valdes-Scantling's comments aren't too far off base: Aaron Rodgers is clearly one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game, and Pittsburgh Steelers fans are catching glimpses of the talent the 42-year-old still has left in the tank.
