Steelers should trade for CB Nahshon Wright

If the Steelers aren't in love with Kelvin Joseph for whatever reason, perhaps they could set their sights toward Cowboys cornerback, Nahshon Wright. Wright is a former third-round pick in 2021 thanks to his remarkable size and length.

The former Oregon State cornerback stands at 6'4 1/4'' with roughly 33'' arms. Though he's a bit on the lean side, his length should be a coveted trait for a team looking for depth on the boundary. Additionally, Wright's ball skills should be a selling point, as he logged 5 interceptions in his two seasons in the Big 12.

Wright was a big-time project that needed some fine-tuning, but this is the part that's great. After spending a couple of years in the league, they let a talented Cowboys coaching staff (led by Dan Quinn) do all of the developing for them.

At this point, there are very few doubts that Wright would be a better option in a pinch than James Pierre. He is a quality run defender who fits the mold of what the Steelers are trying to do on defense, and Pittsburgh would have to give up just a late-round pick (or potentially even a Day 3 pick-swap) to the Cowboys in exchange for his services.

The Steelers don't have to make a move now. They could hold off and see what happens on the waiver wire. However, as Omar Khan has already shown us, it doesn't hurt to be aggressive at times. Perhaps they should try to execute a trade for one of these three Cowboys players.
