Steelers cut outside linebacker Quincy Roche
This isn't the first time that Quincy Roche has been cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers. After impressing during his first summer with the team in 2021, fans were surprised that Roche had fallen short of making the final Steelers roster -- a move that many were upset over.
Roche was quickly snatched up by the New York Giants where he played in 14 games as a rookie and earned 2.5 sacks. After playing in just 3 games with the Giants in 2022, Roche was back on the streets looking for work.
Had it not been for Pittsburgh drafting Nick Herbig, there's a pretty good chance Roche would still be here with the team. However, the Herbig selection essentially sealed Roche's fate. Roche was a former 6th-round draft choice in 2021. At the time many draft analysts thought he should have been selected higher after earning 30.5 sacks and 54.0 tackles for a loss in his college career at Temple and Miami.
Roche will now attempt to make an impression for another NFL ball club, but first, he will need to land with a practice squad. Roche was once a preseason standout, but we may never see him in a Steelers uniform again.
