1. Steelers should trade for DL Leonard Williams

Of the names on this list, trading for a guy like Leonard Williams might be the biggest splash of them all. Williams is still an excellent football player who happens to be on a really bad team right now. The Giants recently fell to 1-5 on the season, and with excellent teams like the Eagles and Cowboys in their division, they know their Super Bowl window isn't now.

The Giants still have one of the best defensive tackles in the business in Dexter Lawrence, so they may be willing to part with Williams at the right price. It's also worth noting that Williams is a 29-year-old defensive lineman whose contract will be voided following the 2023 season.

The Steelers should be getting Cameron Heyward back in a few weeks, so his presence will no doubt help the defense. However, Heyward is 34 years old and may not have a ton of fuel left in the tank. Keeanu Benton looks like he could be the real deal, but Pittsburgh will still need someone to pair with him for the future, and Williams would prove to be an excellent bridge veteran along the interior defensive line.

We know that Pittsburgh could use more depth at this position, and stopping the run has been a chore this year. Imagine going from guys like Larry Ogunjobi, Montravius Adams, and DeMarvin Leal, to Cameron Heyward, Keeanu Benton, and Leonard Williams. Pittsburgh would still have an issue at cornerback, but their defensive line would be impenetrable. This defense would take the next step forward.
