Chris Boswell, Kicker
It's pretty insane how good NFL kickers have become in this most recent era. If Chris Boswell had played 20 years ago, he might have been in contention to be one of the greatest kickers of all time. Now it seems like half the teams have a kicker that they love.
This isn't taking anything away from Boswell, as the long-time Pittsburgh Steelers kicker is having one of the best seasons of his career. The Steelers don't score often, but when they do, you can bet that Boswell has a hand in it (or in this case, a foot). Entering Week 16, 'The Wizard of Boz' has just one missed field goal and one missed extra point.
For the fourth time in his career, Boswell is converting field goals at a rate of at least 92 percent. This is outstanding. It's worth noting that one of his only two misses was on a 61-yarder earlier in the year -- a kick that he drilled from 56 yards before the Steelers special teams received a penalty that backed them up five yards.
Boswell is actually outplaying Justin Tucker this year (who is converting 84.4 percent of kicks), but with AFC kickers like Dustin Hopkins, Nick Folk, Wil Lutz, Harrison Butker, and Ka'imi Fairbairn all having such remarkable seasons, it's going to be hard for Boswell to earn Pro Bowl honors this year.
