1. Dan Moore Jr. is winning the Steelers starting LT battle

As much as we all would love to see Broderick Jones perform so well that he becomes the starter from Day 1, it's looking increasingly less likely that this will be the case. While Moore may not be perfect, he hasn't done anything yet this summer that suggests he must be relieved of his starting duties at left tackle.

Moore has had his struggles, but he hasn't been as high-variance as Jones either. The veteran has been the more consistent player in this battle. This has been showing up at training camp. While Jones can look dominant at times, he also has some pretty ugly reps mixed in -- showing that he's just not quite there yet.

There's a reason Mike Tomlin left the 14th overall pick in the game so long during the preseason opener. Jones just needs a lot of reps. The former five-star recruit started just one full year at Georgia before declaring for the NFL Draft early.

Eventually, we all know that the starting left tackle job will belong to Broderick. But for now, it looks like the rookie is going to have to wait. Dan Moore knows that the future of his career hinges on his performance through the rest of this summer and what he can offer during the 2023 season. He is doing his best to rise to the challenge -- knowing Jones will soon be nipping at his heels.
