Steelers could trade DL DeMarvin Leal

This one is somewhat baffling without context... but that's exactly why context is important. It would seem bizarre if the Pittsbseemgh Steelers traded their third-round pick from 2022 halfway through his second NFL season, but sometimes, players just aren't a good scheme fit.

This was the case with the Dolphins and Minkah Fitzpatrick before they shipped him to Pittsburgh for a first-round pick. From the time DeMarvin Leal was drafted, there have been numerous questions about how he would be used on Pittsburgh's defensive line.

The oversized edge defender might be stuck in between positions in a bad way. Leal isn't athletic enough to play full-time on the edge in the NFL, and he may not be stout enough against the run for what the Steelers look for in an interior defensive lineman.

If the Steelers find that this is the case, it's possible that Omar Khan and Andy Weidl could look to get a mid-round pick back for a team willing to gamble on Leal or a team desperate enough for defensive line help. A mid-season trade involving DeMarvin Leal is unlikely, but it's not out of the question.
