The Steelers head back out west after a long bye week in hopes of staying competitive in a tight AFC North. This team wasn’t exactly lighting it up before the bye week either, as despite a winning record, this offense has looked horrible. There has barely been anything to celebrate on that side, and the defense has also been a mixed bag.
The Rams have certainly played better than many expected them to. They survived without Cooper Kupp and have continued to roll with him back. This seems like a tougher matchup, as Los Angeles has proven to be a good defensive and offensive team overall. Here are four questions the Steelers must answer in week seven against the Rams.
Can the Steelers get Pat Freiermuth involved?
The tight end room has been one of the biggest disappointments this season so far. From poor receiving stats to average blocking, this group, which seemed like an early strength, has been lackluster. Pat Freiermuth in general has been a muted option so far in the passing game.
The Rams defense lacks big playmakers in the middle of their scheme, so having Freirmuth be used as a safety valve is a must. He needs to get on track and get back to his previous form as one of the top tight ends in the league. If Pittsburgh wants to win this week, they will need more production from their tight ends.
