2. Steelers could trade for Jeremy Chinn

From the least likely deal to one of the trickiest ones, I would love to see Jeremy Chinn get added to this roster. The Panthers, like the Broncos, are likely in fire sale mode, and with Chiin having just been moved to IR and a pending free agent, his time in Carolina is likely done. There is a good chance he could return from IR this year though, and that could be big for Pittsburgh.

Chinn is a hybrid linebacker/safety that has excelled since entering the league. He does well as a strong safety and does his best work in the box. While he is best suited close to the line, he can also play deep and even play linebacker at times.

The Steelers have gotten decent play out of their safeties this season, but Chinn could add a new dimension to this team. Whenever he healed up, he could see some subpackage work for the team and potentially even become the strong safety. His physical style would fit right in with what this defense wants to do.

Due to his injury and expiring contract, Chinn would likely be cheap to add. Pittsburgh could also frame the deal with conditional picks centered around playtime. If Chinn gets healthy and contributes, the Panthers get a late-round pick for a player they were going to lose. If not, Pittsburgh doesn’t lose anything. This deal would make a lot of sense for this defense.
