1. Steelers could trade for Jaylon Johnson

While I do believe that Surtain is the better player, I think I would rather have this deal over his. Jaylon Johnson hasn’t been a slouch, as he has quickly developed into one of the top cornerbacks in the league and despite playing on a poor Bears team, he still finds ways to make an impact in coverage.

Johnson will likely be out of Chicago soon. Even if he doesn’t get traded, contract talks stalled in the offseason, so he will likely head to a new destination in free agency. Because of his contract status though, that will also limit his buyers, as a new deal will be needed for Johnson if he were to stick around past this season.

For the Steelers, they would get an instant upgrade in the secondary for a reasonable price. While an extension could be worked out after a trade, the team could also tag him to keep him around. This would provide the Steelers with a huge boost in the secondary as well as options to keep him past this season. It could be a move that easily pushes this team into playoff contention.

Despite a decent record, the Steelers are a team that still needs a lot of help. With the trade deadline here, the team could make some moves to get their team over the hump and into legitimate contender status. These five last-minute trades could be major additions to this roster.
