1. RB Najee Harris

If you are a big Najee Harris fan, brace yourself; it's about to get bumpy. While I certainly wasn't a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers selecting a running back in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, I have no resentment toward Najee. I talked to him personally during the season last year in an interview and wished him the best. However, it's hard to argue that he's not overrated.

From the day he was drafted, Najee just seemed like one of those players who could do no wrong. If he isn't performing well, fans always chalk it up to the offensive line or claim that he wasn't healthy. When he does have a good game, his supporters are the first to say, 'I told you so.'

Here's what we do know: In Harris' first two NFL seasons, he has not been an efficient running back (by any metric you would like to use). Whether it's yards per carry, run success rate, DVOA, breakaway run rate, or yards above replacement, Najee ranked among the worst starting running backs in the league in each of his first two years, and the numbers actually got significantly worse in year two. I talk about his poor efficiency in detail here.

I'm not impressed by the fact that Najee Harris has back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career. That should happen with every running back who averages 290 carries per season. Do not let raw numbers confuse you. Harris has been one of the least efficient running backs in the NFL since entering the league, but the fanbase won't say a negative thing about him no matter what. This is what makes him the most overrated player on the Pittsburgh Steelers roster in 2023.
