As roster cuts become official, don't be surprised if many teams, including the Steelers, continue to tinker with their roster. Even if a certain player makes it past the cut deadline, they could be let go if an outside option is seen as a potential upgrade. It is a busy time around the NFL as players bounce from roster to roster.

There are a good number of names floating out there who could present quality upgrades for Pittsburgh. They have a handful of weaknesses and could use some help. They should be an active team not only on the waiver wire with these roster cuts but also with potential trade options that might be out there. Omar Khan seems prepared for a busy couple of days ahead.

The Steelers must consider claiming these roster cuts around the NFL

Terrell Edmunds

Fans of the Steelers remember Terrell Edmunds well as the former first-round pick of the club had many up and down seasons in Pittsburgh. He left on a good note, but things have not been great since then. He has played for the Eagles, Titans, and Jaguars since the start of last season. He would be a nice addition for depth. It would likely spell disaster for Damontae Kazee to stick around.

Sterling Shepard

Everyone knows the Steelers want a receiver, so why not add a veteran like Sterling Shepard? He hasn't been able to stay on the field over the past three seasons, but his numbers before that were great. Shepard is an experienced guy who could get back to his past production. He would be a nice addition for Pittsburgh, as he would add an upgrade either at depth or to push for a starting job.

John Leglue

It's been two years, but John Leglue is someone the Steelers are familiar with. With Dylan Cook going down with injury and Nate Herbig lost for the season, Pittsburgh could use some help on the offensive line. Leglue might not be the best quality guy, but he has played tackle and guard throughout his career. He could be a nice placeholder while Cook nurses his injury.

Keenan Isaac

Another Tampa Bay Buccaneer roster cut makes the list here as Keenan Isaac had a tremendous preseason. He graded out as one of the best cornerbacks throughout the preseason schedule. He was a surprise early cut by Tampa Bay and should be someone who interests the Steelers. Isaac is a tremendously large corner and could steal a roster spot over someone like Darius Rush.

Jackson Carman

Much like the reasoning behind Leglue, Jackson Carman can play both guard and tackle. He was the second-round pick of the Bengals in the 2021 NFL Draft. He has been a significant disappointment during his time in Cincinnati. Perhaps a change of scenery will do wonders for his production. The Steelers should be interested in his versatility while Cook is away.

Donovan Peoples-Jones

One of the top receivers available is Donovan Peoples-Jones. It would make a ton of sense for Pittsburgh to double-dip at receiver to try and find a legit starter and someone who could upgrade their top-depth spot. Peoples-Jones has slipped since he left Cleveland, but he has shown he can produce quality numbers in a starting role in the past.
