5 Steelers who could be cut unless they stand out against the Bills tonight
Good practices in training camp might not be enough to make the roster
Perhaps one of the most complex areas on the team right now is none other than the secondary. Not only are there question marks at who will start where, but the depth pieces that will round out this roster are in full competition mode. Sometimes that brings a player or two out of the woodwork during the preseason and that is true this year.
Kenny Robinson has slowed down some recently, but he has been one of the better players during camp. He has been able to show the ability to cause turnovers and create issues for the offense while he is on the field. Again, availability is the best ability and Robinson has been able to stay healthy to this point in the preseason.
Since Damontae Kazee, Keanu Neal, and Minkah Fitzpatrick have missed time with injuries and other issues, that has given other opportunities. Robinson was given more snaps during practice, and he was able to take advantage of that. Sometimes being quiet in the secondary is one of the best things you can be, but turnovers are more eye-popping.
Robinson did not play terribly, but if he wants a shot at making the Steelers final roster then he will need to improve in week two of the preseason. He will have to find ways of knocking others in front of him like Tre Norwood and Miles Killebrew. It is going to be tricky to get past either of those two, especially if Robinson cannot show up on special teams.
